Thomas, production manager of the manufacturing department: “It feels really good to be back at WFI”

This spring, team WFI and particularly the manufacturing department, received reinforcement by hiring a true WFI veteran, Thomas Nilenfors. Thomas was one of the first to join the team back in 2005 and has now returned after a few years working elsewhere. During his early years at WFI, Thomas worked in the warehouse and now he is back as a production manager of the manufacturing department, a new position that has developed in line with the company's growth.

– When I started at WFI in March 2005, it was just me, Johan, Henrik, and Irene here, and a lot has happened since I left about ten years ago. Back then, I handled everything related to the warehouse and was, in that sense, a so-called warehouse manager. Although much has changed, I still have knowledge about many of the products and even remember our old article numbers. I have always enjoyed working with these types of products, which is why it feels really good to be back!, Thomas begins.

– A typical work morning usually starts with me reviewing all the manufacturing order lists and planning my work for the day. The products often need to go through and be handled at various stations, including lacquering, assembling, and packaging. So, what I primarily do throughout the day is gather parts for lacquering, assemble products, and, of course, help out in the warehouse when needed. We have a lot more of these types of custom orders and special projects now compared to when I worked here before, but it is also that variety that I enjoy most about my job, Thomas concludes.

What do you like the most with your job?
-   The variation and my colleagues.

What do you prefer to do in your free time?
-   Most of the time, I enjoy staying active with everything from padel and golf to running and walking the dog. In addition to that, I spend a lot of time on woodworking, gardening, and small projects both at home and at the cottage.

How would you describe WFI as an employer?
-   In short, very good, otherwise I would not have come back!
