Goran Seckovic, responsible for incoming deliveries: “Your colleagues become like a family”

When Goran Seckovic came from Montenegro to Sweden, it did not take long before he encountered WFI AB. Something that today is about 15 years ago. During all these years, he has worked in the warehouse, driven around different pallets, and above all, been a given part of the WFI family. Since about six years, he has been responsible for the company’s incoming deliveries – and describes the team as the most vital part for all the years that have passed.

Solid experience with incoming deliveries
Before Goran set foot at WFI, he had been operative in several different areas and worked with everything from packing and warehouse work to material handling in the manufacturing industry and mail handling. The latter at the post office in Montenegro, where he worked for seven years with registration of parcels and web deliveries.

– The job I did at the post office is quite similar to what I do today, the big difference is that I get dirtier now *laughs*. Back then, I just worked at an office and now I drive a truck, load packages, and clear out the warehouse on top of that, Goran begins.

Back in the early 00’s, when Goran started working at WFI’s warehouse, he was one of the first to become part of the company apart from the owners. Over time, his role has evolved from being a warehouse worker to becoming responsible for all incoming deliveries as well.

– When we first came to Sweden in 2001, we lived and worked in Värnamo for a couple of years. After a while, I got in touch with Margareta and P-O at WFI, and that is how it all started. It is hard to say why I have stayed around for so long, but your colleagues become like family with time. The work you do also becomes more interesting the more you learn, Goran continues.

Busy working days with lots of laughter and banter
On a typical working day, Goran does everything from picking orders, clearing the warehouse, and moving articles on the truck to registering all incoming deliveries, and there are many products in motion.

– It is busy all the time and I always want to do more than I can and have time for. My main task is to concentrate on the work at the “back” of the warehouse, but at the same time I want to help my colleagues with the things I can at the “front”. We have really many articles so it can be challenging to find a place for each and every one, but we solve it together. We always have a lot of fun, laughter, and banter in the meantime and that is the most important!, Goran concludes.

Three fast questions with Goran!

What is your best memory from your time at WFI?
-   There are many fun memories, but my favourite must be Berlin. That trip was amazing, everything was well organized, and we had so much fun together. Something that my colleagues still laugh about today is when we were going on a bike ride in pouring rain, and I stuffed towels inside of my clothes to keep warm *laughs*.

How would you describe WFI as an employer?
-   In my opinion, the number of years I have worked here says it all!

What do you prefer to do at your free time?
-   Spend time with my family, workout, and travel as much as we can, both in Sweden and abroad.
