Zorica, warehouse worker: ”I felt welcome from day one and over the years we have grown into a family”

Another employee who has worked at WFI for several years is Zorica Pavicar, who found her way to the company shortly after she moved from Croatia to Sweden. Almost six years ago, in 2018, she was hired as a warehouse worker at the warehouse in Gnosjö. Zorica describes that she felt welcome from the first day and, above all, highlights how much it meant for her personal journey into a new culture.

–   I felt really welcome from day one when I started at WFI. Everyone was so friendly, and it was a good way for me to meet new people when I moved to Sweden. It was difficult in the beginning, both with the culture and the language, so it meant a lot to get such a warm welcoming at a workplace, Zorica begins.

On a regular working day, Zorica works with both picking and packing with the rest of the employees at the warehouse – a group she resembles with a family.

–   I usually come to work at 06.45 in the morning and the first thing I do is to check the picking studio. This is the place where we check if there are any orders that are missing items, if something has extra high priority, or if we have packages that are picked up before breakfast. After that, I manage the customer I am responsible for, even though we help each other and work together a lot, we have slightly different areas of responsibility, Zorica continues.

–   What I appreciate the most is that I get to be active all day and that a certain precision is required, as I enjoy structure and organizing. But also, that we have so much fun together while we are working, we know each other very well after all these years and truly are like a family!, Zorica concludes.

Your best memory from WFI so far?
-   Our trip to Barcelona was amazing. We hang out in the sun all day, took bike rides, and got to spend time with each other.

How would you describe the working environment at WFI?
-   Familiar. There is no hierarchy, and everyone is equal regardless of what you do, whether you work at the warehouse or the office, and I really appreciate that.

What do you prefer to do in your free time?
-   I really enjoy baking, everything from cookies and cakes to bread. The time I spend on baking goes in periods but when I bake, I can do it for hours. Otherwise, I spend most of my time with my family.
